What each credential
actually means.

QP
QualityPro Certified
Administered by the National Pest Management Association, QualityPro certification requires companies to meet standards in six categories: business operations, technician training, consumer relations, environmental stewardship, vehicle safety, and sales practices. Recertification is required every two years. Less than 3% of US pest control companies qualify. For commercial clients, QualityPro certification is increasingly required by insurance carriers, managing agents, and institutional clients.
MWBE
MWBE Certified
Broadway Pest Services holds Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) certification from New York State. This certification is awarded after a rigorous review of business ownership, operational control, and financial independence. For clients working with NYC government agencies or on publicly-funded projects with MWBE utilization requirements, Broadway Pest satisfies those requirements directly.

NYC DEC Licensed
All Broadway Pest technicians hold current pesticide applicator licenses issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. DEC licensing requires passing a rigorous examination covering pest biology, pesticide chemistry, application methods, and environmental regulations. License numbers are available on request and can be verified at the NYS DEC website. We carry full commercial general liability and pollution liability insurance.

    Many commercial property insurance policies require that pest control contractors hold specific certifications. Using an uncertified company can void coverage for pest-related damage claims. QualityPro certification satisfies most carrier requirements.

    In HPD housing court and DOH administrative proceedings, documentation from a licensed, certified pest control company carries significantly more weight than records from an unlicensed operator. Judges and administrative law officers specifically look for contractor credentials.

    DEC-licensed technicians are trained and legally authorized to apply restricted-use pesticides that unlicensed operators cannot legally touch. These products — including certain rodenticides and termiticides — are significantly more effective than over-the-counter alternatives.

    MWBE Contract Compliance
    NYC government agencies and recipients of public funding are required to meet MWBE utilization goals. Broadway Pest's MWBE certification allows you to count pest control spend toward those goals — at no additional cost or change to service.
